Columbia Garden Club Recap & Gardens of the World

I had the incredible honor of speaking at The Columbia Garden Club Foundation’s Flowers with Friends Spring Symposium in South Carolina last week, where I joined a panel of experts to answer gardening questions from over 300 attendees. The event featured stunning Gardens of the World tablescapes, and my dear friend Natalie from Smith’s of Dublin helped curate the exquisite Herend china on display. From an unforgettable dinner at the Governor’s Mansion to fascinating conversations about flowers and design, it was a truly special experience—I can’t wait to share all the behind-the-scenes fun with you!

At the end of February, over 300 women gathered in South Carolina for The Columbia Garden Club Foundation’s Fourth Annual “Flowers with Friends” Spring Symposium, where I had the honor of speaking alongside an incredible panel of floral experts. Joining me on stage were Rebecca Koraytem, U.S. Sales Executive for David Austin Roses, and Caroline Spelman and Elizabeth Poulot of Juniper and Jasmine floral design in Charleston, SC.

The trip was made even more special as the First Lady of South Carolina graciously hosted us for a beautiful dinner at the Governor’s Mansion. It was an unforgettable experience, filled with warm hospitality, inspiring conversations, and a stunning setting that perfectly reflected the elegance of the event.

The Spring Symposium was a lovely event filled with gardening conversations, new friendships, and breathtaking tablescapes inspired by the theme Gardens of the World. A special highlight for me was collaborating with my dear friend Natalie from Smith’s of Dublin, who helped curate the exquisite china displayed throughout the event. Each tablescape was thoughtfully designed in partnership with Kat McCall Papers, who handcrafted every paper good to beautifully represent the essence of each garden.

Now, I’m thrilled to share more of this story! Join me as Natalie reveals the fascinating history behind one of the stunning china patterns we featured—one that involves Queen Victoria and a gardener who stumbled upon the princess’s lost pearl necklace! Plus, I share some of my favorite ways to use these timeless pieces in my own home. Don’t miss this fun video on my Instagram:
