Spring Container Garden

If you’re looking for an easy container garden for spring this is one of my go-tos! Here’s what you’ll need for this super simple container garden:

Ingredients have all been linked in my Amazon store here (yes even live plants can be delivered by Amazon!)

  • Galvanized light weight container with good drainage
  • Potting soil
  • Carolina jasmine
  • 3 trailing plants, like candy tuft
  1. I always say, “Go big or go home”! So, I recommend starting with your Carolina jasmine in the center of the pot. I’m always on the lookout for topiaries because they are a statement piece and it adds a nice layer of height to the container. Carolina jasmine only blooms for a short time in the summer but I love it for the greenery! This particular topiary is growing around bamboo sticks which I just adore! I filled my container up with soil to begin with, but there is too much in them to fit the jasmine! So, I had to remove a lot of soil before actually planting anything. You want to make sure the top of the root ball is level with the edge of the container.
  1. Add your trailing plants next. I found beautiful candy tuft at our local garden center and just had to use it! I sometimes take a chunk of soil and roots off the bottom of the plant, so it fits nicely into the container. Plant all three in a triangle around the topiary.

This container garden can make a great front porch statement with one on either side of your door! Now you’ve got a great statement piece your guests will love! Be sure to share all your creations with me! Happy Gardening!
