3 Simple Ways to Welcome Guests to Your Holiday Table

I know everyone is getting ready to welcome friends and family into their homes during the next few weeks, so in addition to setting a beautiful seasonal table, I want to share with you some other ways you can add warmth and hospitality to your tablescape to ensure everyone feels special!

Choose a simple, thoughtful centerpiece.

Always start with candlesticks! They are elegant, easy, and inexpensive, plus eating dinner by the flickering glow adds a super soft and cozy feeling of familiarity. (Also, no one will notice if you drip cranberry sauce on your white top!) Use silver or glass candlesticks in varying heights and colored candles to match your dishware. (My green tapers pair beautifully with the green pattern on the table linens!) Then, sprinkle in a holiday plant like these 4-inch red poinsettias. Simply plop them in a gorgeous vase or cachepot, arrange a few amongst your candles, and you’re done! (You can move them to other spots in your home after dinner or send them home with guests.)

Always use a pretty placecard.

A styled placecard is a super-simple way to show extra care and attention to both your place setting and your guests. A personalized touch conveys a “you are important” message, and there’s no worry about where anyone needs to sit; you’ve already done that part for them! Find a beautiful paper that accents the rest of your table décor, then write out names in calligraphy or a simple script or print them in a fancy font straight from your home computer!

Send home a happy.

I love to send home something with dinner guests, and these gorgeous little containers from Amazon are a lovely way to package these delicious red chocolate balls. The glass canister and gold top add extra sparkle and the red candy is a nice pop of color that coordinates with the poinsettias.

These tips are so easy to incorporate, but they will make a big impact on your table and on your guests, I promise! Happy Celebrating and Happy Holidays to you!
